Enough wind energy to power 91,000 homes should flow from a project being bankrolled by NTR, the restructured €170m Dublin-based renewable energy company controlled by Roche, 67, and family. He, his wife Ann, 65, and children Conor, 42, Michelle, 41, Joanne, 39, and John, 30, hold more than 88% of NTR and its associated companies. They manage funds in wind energy for investors and their NTR Wind 1 LP Fund is investing €670m though loans and equity in 10 windfarms. Ann, sister of Bernie Gallagher and Eileen Monahan (both qv), and the children have 20%, worth €127m, of the Doyle Hotels (Holdings) chain in Ireland, Britain and America founded by her late father, PV Doyle. The family has other assets and dividends, which we value at €110m.  In 2016, John paid €1.7m for a lock-keeper’s cottage in Ballsbridge and plans to turn it into nine apartments.
