Joseph and Jean Brennan and family
Brennans’ yellow vans are a familiar sight across Ireland, making deliveries for the nation’s biggest breadmaker. Dublin-based Brennans Bakeries is worth €88m and is owned via Dodder Unlimited in the Isle of Man. We assume it is controlled by the founder Joseph Brennan, 74, his wife Jean, 74, and their seven children – Colm, Deborah, Declan, David, Joseph Edward, Michelle and Suzanne – all of whom sit on its board. They had a €141m property portfolio in 2001, when last disclosed, which would now be worth €160m. Other investments include the Hamley’s building in London’s Regent Street, the Tiffany & Co shop in Old Bond Street and a share portfolio. Past salaries, pensions and dividends add €11m.
